How to Approach and Address Challenging Conversations Positively

In the workplace we have numerous interactions with staff. When these situations become tough or strained then the communication can become challenging.  In order to deal effectively with awkward, tense, or challenging conversations, we first need to understand the common mistakes we make — and then take steps to address the conversation in a planned and prepared way.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Learn new strategies for handling difficult conversations effectively
  • Learn a better approach to conduct challenging conversations effectively
  • Understand what makes a conversation difficult and be able to prepare effectively for them
  • Increased ability to control and manage emotions during the conversation.

Target Audience:

Staff who have line management responsibility and/or all staff who have a special interest in this topic.
