EA C2k - Learning from Home - 2021

The EA C2k eLearning Team is offering support sessions to teachers who are new to the C2k eLearning services between 18th - 25th January 2021. These sessions ranging from 30 - 45 mins will be delivered online and include a webinar followed by a Q&A session. Each session will be accompanied by links to useful resources to act as a springboard for further exploration.

Please share with the relevant staff in your school as applications should be completed by those staff wishing to attend. It is beneficial to identify early the strategic direction of your school regarding using applications to provide blended learning. Selecting the most appropriate tool(s) will allow your school to have a more focused approach and also make spaces available for other schools.

Please Note: GSuite and O365 are Opt-in services and Principals are required to complete and submit the relevant form on C2k Exchange - C2k Exchange | School Services | Information management | Service requests

Showcasing application of eLearning tools

Webinars showcasing how schools have used each of the eLearning Tools are available in Media Library via My School (https://www.c2kschools.net/). There are plans to run further webinars and support sessions for those already familiar with and using the C2k eLearning services.  

C2k NewsDesk Support Session

The C2k NewsDesk gives pupils an opportunity to engage with current news stories in a digital environment. Students can read and comment on stories and submit their own topical writing to a ready-made audience.

Collaborate Ultra Support Session

Collaborate Ultra is a secure Video Conferencing solution for Education. Every teaching and non-teaching member of staff in school has their own account. Collaborate ultra allows users to communicate and share resources with other users.

G Suite Support Sessions

G Suite offers a range of tools supporting anytime access to files and provision for staff and pupil collaboration.

Sessions will cover:-

1. Google Drive and Shared Drives

2. Introduction to Google Classroom: Creating a Google Class, Setting Permissions, Giving Pupils Access, Sharing resources

3. Maximising your Google Classroom: Assessment and feedback

O365 Support sessions

Learn how the range of O365 online apps are easily accessible to support both teachers and students when working and learning at home or in school

Sessions will cover:-

1. Using O365 Apps.

2. Introduction to MS Team – Creating Teams and setting up required features.

3. Assessment and feedback using MS Teams.

C2k Collaborate Ultra Training

Collaborate Ultra Support Sessions

EA C2k eLearning Team will be offering a support session to help schools get started with Collaborate Ultra. Collaborate Ultra launched within EA C2k in March 2020 and is a secure Video Conferencing solution for Education. Every teaching and non-teaching member of staff in school has their own Collaborate Ultra account. This will be a live sessions providing support for teachers starting out with Collaborate Ultra. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis and are open to Primary, Post-Primary, Special school and EOTAS.

In this session you will learn how to: access the software, invite attendees, create sessions, chat, audio, video, share content, control a session using access rights and record.

In order to support as many schools and centres as possible, a maximum of three teachers per school can join each session. We will seek to provide additional sessions should demand exceed the places currently available.

A confirmation email will be sent to all successful applicants prior to the course date. As our courses are in huge demand we would appreciate if you could inform us prior to any EA C2k training courses if you cannot attend.  This will allow us to provide a training opportunity to someone on the course reserve list.

C2k NewsDesk Support Sessions

The C2k NewsDesk Webinar will look at how this service can be used by teachers to direct pupils to content and activities focused on independent learning. In addition, teachers will be shown the vast range and depth of curriculum rich content that is available when pupils login to MySchool and click on NewsDesk which can be accessed safely and securely from home. You will be shown how pupils can add comments and/or upload their own content which will be moderated and monitored by the NewsDesk team. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis and are open to Primary, Post-Primary, Special school and EOTAS.

In order to support as many schools and centres as possible, a maximum of three teachers per school can join each session. We will seek to provide additional sessions should demand exceed the places currently available.

Google G Suite Support Sessions

EA C2k eLearning Team will be offering support sessions to help schools get started with Google G Suite. These will be live, forty five minute sessions providing support for teachers starting out with G Suite. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis and are open to Primary, Post-Primary, Special school and EOTAS.

Please note these sessions are unlikely to be sufficient in themselves as stand-alone training. They are designed to complement existing help materials and to act as a springboard for further exploration. Most benefit will be derived by integrating the support sessions with other materials available through Google Support Site and suggested during the sessions.

This session will focus on:
-creating, uploading and organising content in My Drive
-sharing and collaborating using Google Files
-Shared Drives for staff collaboration

An overview of the O365 apps and how they can be used to support remote learning.  See how these familiar apps have many additional features and can be used easily at home or in school. Including a demonstration of Immersive Reader and how this can support literacy and communication

2. Introduction to MS Teams

Overview of Teams and how it can be used to engage and support learners in remote learning,  Learn also how to use teams for effective staff collaboration.
This session will focus on the basics:
- How to create a team and add members
- Tips for effective communication in Teams
- Uploading, sharing and collaboration in Teams

3. Assessment and feedback using Teams

This session will build on the previous session. It will provide an overview of the tools within a Class team and how they can be used to support pupils' learning
Learn how to:
-  Get to know assignment settings
-  Create an assignment
-  Review pupil work and provide feedback
-  Gradebook dashboard
-  Review pupil engagement
