The Togetherness Foundation Training is all about supporting emotional health and wellbeing with a focus on relationships and nurturing connected, sensitive and responsive interactions.
This training, delivered by EA LITs in collaboration with Getting Ready to Learn (GRtL), is for staff working with children and families in their pre-school year.
A Togetherness manual will be provided.
Participants will receive a certificate on course completion and registered with Togetherness to access further training in the future.
Course content
• Introduction to infant, early childhood and brain development
• Understanding behaviour as a communication
• The Solihull Approach model (psychoanalytic theory): Containment, Reciprocity, Behaviour Management
• Development milestones
• Emotional wellbeing
• Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
• Parent-child relationships
• Practitioner support for parent child relationships
The training takes place over 2 full days with time in between to enhance theory into practice. This is followed by a further day of reflective practice in February to further embed learning and explore real case studies.
