Handling Complaints

Target Audience:

All Governors of Nursery, Primary, Post-Primary and Special Schools.

Aims:

To ensure that school governors understand the importance of managing complaints and their role in ensuring that schools deal with complaints effectively.

 

Course Objectives/ Outcomes:

To enable schools to:

Develop a comprehensive school’s complaints policy.

Put in place effective procedures for handling complaints in line with best practice.

Understand the role of the Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO).

From April 2017, the Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO) can investigate complaints made about schools.
