Target Audience:

Induction Teachers

 

The Induction face-to-face workshop will provide you with information on the key principles and practices of the induction process as well as introducing you to a career long pathway of Teacher Professional Learning (TPL). You will be taken through the elements required to complete induction and consider how you will develop the skills of a reflective practitioner in line with the vision of the Learning Leaders strategy. The session will be an opportunity to begin to build collaborative networks to support and develop your practice and learn from other professionals who have recently successfully completed the process.

Objectives:

  • Develop your knowledge and understanding of the requirements of induction within the context of lifelong learning, the GTCNI competences and Learning Leaders.
  • Examine the induction action planning process and the structure of an induction portfolio of evidence.
  • Look at the “what, why and how” of classroom practice - your vision, values and building reflective habits.
  • Access professional learning to support you in your teaching and learning.
  • Raise awareness of resources to support your practice.
  • Create your own professional network through collaborative practices.

Time:

9.30 am - 3.30 pm (Registration 9.15 am - 9.30 am)

This training will take place in Antrim Board Centre.

Information regarding payment of substitute cover:  If a school releases an ECT, supply cover is available if you are in a permanent or a temporary capacity in a school. Monies allocated to schools after attendance at event.  When booking a supply teacher on NISTR choose - Miscellaneous School Charge/Cost.

HOSPITALITY UPDATE – Change to information previously supplied to schools and ECTs.

Due to current financial constraints we wish to notify you that lunch and tea/coffee can no longer be provided at these workshops.  We therefore request that participants bring their own lunch and refreshments to the training.  Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
