Safeguarding & Child Protection 1/2 Day Refresher Training for Principals

AIM:

• To build upon School Principals’ knowledge and understanding of their role in managing child protection and safeguarding within their school.

OBJECTIVES:

On completion of this training participants will have had the opportunity to:

• Consider current legislation, policies and best practice for child protection and safeguarding in schools.

• Revisit the safeguarding role of the Principal.

• Revisit the roles and responsibilities of the safeguarding team within the school and other professionals in the child protection process.

• Understand how allegations and complaints against staff are presently managed.

• Understand the safeguarding messages for schools from recent SBNI Case Management Reviews and EA Individual Agency Reports

Participants will be invited by the Child Protection Support Service Team
