AIMS:

• To provide an overview of characteristic difficulties affecting language development in children with Down Syndrome.
• To explore the impact these characteristic difficulties have on communication.
• To provide evidence based strategies to implement within a school/early years setting to support language and communication difficulties in children with Down Syndrome.
• To provide an overview of signing systems and to explore the benefits of signing with children with Down Syndrome.
