This training will consist of 3 sessions outlined below. Participants MUST attend all 3 sessions
Developing a Calm Plan (Session 1 of 3)
Introduce the neurosequential model
Understand the process of developing a supported Calm Plan based on nurture principles and trauma informed practice
Use the Calm Plan framework:
To help recognise dysregulation in yourself and your pupils
To help understand what pupils are communicating through their behaviour
Develop an understanding of how to help pupils feel safe and connected
Rethinking Circle Time (Session 2 of 3)
Outline the benefits of circle time to:
Increase self awareness
Improve social skills
Promote inclusion
Create healthy relationships
Change the dynamic in a group
Use the neurosequential model to plan the structure of circle time sessions
Supporting Parents to promote positive Social Behaviour and Emotional Wellbeing (SBEW) at home (Session 3 of 3)
Raise awareness of strategies to promote positive SBEW including:
Take 5 steps to wellbeing
Dan Hughes PACE
Use the neurosequential model to help staff engage in supportive communication with parents
Course Details:
This course will run in 3 separate sessions - 21 October 2021, 25 November 2021 and 13 January 2022.
Time: 2.00pm - 3.30pm
