Aspiring senior leaders who have held middle leadership positions for 3 or more years or recently appointed senior leaders

Programme format

The programmes will consist of 6 online sessions beginning during the last week of November 2020 and concluding in September 2021. These sessions will be facilitated from 2-4 on each of the days.

During these scheduled sessions course tutors will be available to provide, advice, support, challenge and encouragement. We would strongly encourage participants to engage in the scheduled sessions in order to collaborate with colleagues however, they can access the material and engage with activities at any time.

In order to minimise disruption to teaching the course will be scheduled for a different day each month.  The online sessions will require participants to:

• Read relevant course material

• Engage in online activities

• Contribute to online discussions

• Complete relevant course evaluations

The School Improvement Project (SIP)

A key element of these programmes is the SIP which allows participants to engage in a realistic, contextual leadership challenge.

The programme is a vehicle for school improvement and professional development and as such the focus for the school improvement project should be something that the school has identified as a priority or are already engaged in. For instance, this year, it may be on aspects of Restart like Blended learning or Emotional Health and Wellbeing

Course commitments

Participants are expected to engage in all sessions and complete each of the following:

• Submit a School Improvement project outline prior to course commencement November 2020

• Submit an  interim evaluation in January 2021

• Submit school improvement project progress report March 2021

• Complete final evaluation April 2021

• Submit school improvement project September 2021

All participants must have approval from the principal before applying for this programme
