1. Language, Communication & Learning in the Classroom

Aims and Objectives

This half day course is recommended for school staff who have had no previous Language and Communication training.

It aims to provide participants with:

• An introduction to language development from birth throughout childhood.
• An understanding of the different components of language and how these are interdependent.
• An understanding of further training provided by Language and Communication Service and assist with planning the most appropriate training plan for individual settings.

There will also be opportunities to engage in practical workshop activities, exploring strategies and resources to support language development within the classroom.
