• To highlight some of the benefits of inclusion for young people with Down Syndrome in post primary mainstream settings.
• To provide an overview of supporting inclusion for young people with Down Syndrome in post primary mainstream settings.
• To highlight some of the characteristic difficulties young people with Down Syndrome have in relation to learning.
• To provide practical classroom strategies that can be implemented in order to overcome barriers to learning for young people with Down Syndrome.
