In this face‑to‑face session, we will explore what a democratic school culture looks like in practice and how it can be developed from the Foundation Stage upwards using the Just2easy Tool Suite as a part of everyday classroom teaching and learning.
Participants will look at how pupil voice can be meaningfully supported through a range of pupil groups including school councils, eco councils, digital leaders and other pupil‑led teams. We will explore how the Just2easy tools can be used to enable discussion, collaboration, voting, reflection and shared decision‑making, allowing these groups to work together rather than in isolation.
Led by Mary from Just2easy and Amelia from the Electoral Commission in Northern Ireland, this session brings together digital learning and democratic education. The Electoral Commission is the UK’s independent body responsible for overseeing elections and promoting public confidence in the democratic process. By combining the Commission’s expertise with the Just2easy tool suite, this session supports schools in developing confident, informed and engaged pupils who can play an active role in shaping their communities.
