Full Day - Training for Classroom Assistants and Learning Support Co-Ordinators Supporting Pupils with A Statement for SBEW Needs

This training will take the form of:

• 1 x full day training for Classroom Assistant (assigned to pupil) PLUS Learning Support Co-Ordinator OR Class Teacher. 

Aim 

Understanding the needs of children and young people with a Statement of SEN for Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing needs.

• 3 x Classroom Assistant (only) afternoon training sessions (1.30pm – 3.30pm).

Aim

Enable Classroom Assistants to use a range of strategies and resources to promote inclusion of children and young people with a Statement of SEN for Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing needs in school.

Learning Outcomes

• To develop an awareness of the importance of utilizing the pupil voice.
• To understand how pupils can be supported to develop independence.
• To increase awareness of strategies to support positive relationships.

Time

9.30am - 3.30pm

Please note, attendance at all sessions is essential. For the full day session, it is essiental that a Classroom Assistant must attend with a Class Teacher or Learning Support Co-Ordinator.
