C2k Newsdesk Session

The C2K Newsdesk is a treasure trove of KS1 and KS2 resources designed to support the teaching of Literacy and World Around Us topics in Primary Schools. The Newsdesk team will take teachers on a guided tour of how to access the wide range of ready to use curriculum topic bundles for whole class teaching on classroom whiteboards - and for independent learning by pupils in school and at home.

The Newsdesk editor will highlight ways that pupils can publish their own comments and articles as a way of meaningfully developing literacy skills - and look at the platform's most recent additions and innovations to support learning, including a series of specially written short stories by Irish children's authors and the integration of Immersive Reader to enable newcomer pupils to access content.

Collaborate Ultra Session

Collaborate Ultra is a secure Video Conferencing solution for Education. Every teaching and non-teaching member of staff in school has their own account. Collaborate ultra allows users to communicate and share resources with other users. This session will include a demonstration of key feature as well as a look at new improved functionality including up to 250 videos being displayed to increase engagement.

Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) Back to School Updates

A number of updates are typically released over the summer months and this C2k webinar provides an opportunity to get up to speed with these as well as what to expect throughout the autumn term. We’ll also recap on key updates from 2020-21 and share top tips for getting learning off to a good start for the new academic year.

Microsoft O365 Back to School Session

O365 is a range of Microsoft apps (available in both web and desktop version) for use in school and at home. In this ‘back to school’ session, we will provide an update on some of the latest features that will help you to get off to a great start in this new academic year.

You will be navigated through a Class Team and Meeting, with the key improvements and features highlighted along the way. This will ensure that you can make the most of your own online classes during in the forthcoming academic year.

The webinar will also introduce the exciting new Reading Progress app and you will learn how you can use this alongside other apps in MS Teams.

Safer Internet – Online safety update

The UK Safer Internet Centre and EA/C2k would like to invite you to a free 90-minute virtual Online Safety briefing. Open to all professionals who work with children and young people in Northern Ireland, this event provides the latest in online safety research, legislation, technology, tools and resources along with exclusive access to e-safety resource materials.

 This 90 min briefing session will outline key online safety resources and the support available for practitioners in NI. Participants of the Online Safety Live event will also be given a link to a resources area tailored for those working with young people in NI.

 Online Safety is constantly changing and the purpose of these Online Safety Live events is to provide access to this information and will provide vital information about online safeguarding. Over the last few years the UK Safer Internet Centre have welcomed over 16,000 delegates to these events throughout the UK.
