Governor Training - Effective Governance

Target Audience:

All Governors of Nursery, Primary, Post-Primary and Special Schools.

Aims:

To review the statutory functions of the Governors and will further develop an understanding of how the Board of Governors can contribute to school improvement.

Course Objectives/ Outcomes:

By the end of the session Governors will:

• Understand the statutory roles and responsibilities of Governors.
• Understand the importance of the self-evaluation process in relation to effective governance.
• Have an awareness of the importance of working as a team to promote effective governance.

• Governors who have already attended Induction Training.
