This professional learning opportunity supports Early Career Teachers in developing a clear understanding of effective pedagogy within the context of the proposed Northern Ireland Curriculum. The conference focuses on developing an understanding of effective pedagogy and evidence informed approaches for learning and teaching.
The day also provides opportunities to engage with system leaders, including DE, school leaders and classroom practitioners. The event supports collaboration and professional dialogue.
ECTs will:
Develop their understanding of curriculum, effective pedagogy and what this means for classroom practice.
Increase their awareness of the proposed direction of curriculum development in Northern Ireland and the implications for teaching and learning.
Explore evidence-informed approaches to high-quality teaching and learning through engagement with system leaders and experienced practitioners.

Substitute cover is available for the release of ECTs working in schools (excludes Independent Schools). Monies in relation to sub cover will be issued to schools after teacher has attended event. This professional learning opportunity aims to support the development of the following GTCNI competences:
