EA Educational Leadership Conference

Dear Principal,

I am pleased to inform you that the EA is hosting an Educational Leadership Conference for school principals on Wednesday 15th May, 2019.
We are delighted that we have secured the services of Professor John Hattie, a world renowned educational thinker and researcher, as our keynote speaker for this very significant event.

The theme of the conference will be “The Learning Revolution” and Professor Hattie and other speakers will share research findings and practical advice on how placing learning at the centre of all our work can dramatically improve the outcomes and life chances of pupils.

We appreciate that the period of notice for this event is short, but when the rare opportunity to avail of Professor Hattie’s expertise became available to EA, we were keen to avail of it and to make it accessible to principals across the EA. Our hope is to develop this educational leadership conference into an annual event, which will bring high profile, highly regarded educationalists to speak to and connect with our education system and its leaders, on an on-going basis.

The outline details of the 2019 conference are as follows:

• Date: Wednesday 15th May, 2019
• Venue: The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Shaws Bridge, Belfast
• Time: 9.30am – 4.00pm

Format: Keynote addresses by Prof John Hattie; practitioner led seminars; informal sharing of practice.

We anticipate that there will be substantial interest in this event and we are keen to accommodate as many school principals as possible. Due to the level of interest, we are restricting attendance to serving principals, with a maximum of one place per school. We plan to provide follow-up support and resources for all schools that wish to avail of it, including those which are unable to attend the event.
