Aims: 

A session tailored to your individual setting needs with a focus on highlighting how to gain an understanding of the profile of children and young people with severe learning difficulties, and strategies to support effective inclusion in mainstream settings.

Course Content:

This session has been specifically developed to support the following;

  • How we define severe learning difficulties and how it affects children and young people
  • The importance of inclusion and the impact that effective inclusion has on the school, with reference to relevant legislation
  • To give an overview of the barriers children with severe learning difficulties face, and strategies to overcome these across different curriculum areas

Course Duration:

  • A 40 Minute training video which particpants can view in their own time.
  • The link to access the course will be provided in your confirmation email.

Target Audience

  • All staff supporting pupils with a severe learning difficulty in mainstream settings (including SPiMS)
