Power Up Your Pedagogy is designed to support Early Career Teachers in developing a deeper understanding of high-quality teaching and learning. Led by educational author and practitioner Bruce Robertson (Next Level Education), the session explores evidence-informed approaches to effective classroom practice, drawing on insights from cognitive science and educational research. Through practical examples, professional dialogue and reflection, participants will consider how key pedagogical principles can be translated into everyday classroom practice to support pupil learning and strengthen their own professional development.
By the end of this session, Early Career Teachers will be able to:
Develop their understanding of evidence-informed approaches to high-quality teaching and learning, including key principles from cognitive science.
Explore practical strategies such as questioning, retrieval practice, feedback and adaptive teaching, and consider how these can be applied within their own classroom context.
