Developing a Whole School Response to Bereavement and Critical Incidents (1/2 Day Course x2)

Aims and Objectives

Day One

• To increase awareness of the ways in which children and young people grieve
• To explore effective strategies which support children and young people through bereavement 
• To provide a Bereavement Policy Framework

Day Two 

• To provide guidance on developing a Critical Incident Management Policy and Plan
• To raise awareness of the many complex issues accompanying a critical incident
• To inform schools of the supportive role of the Education Authority Critical Incident Response Team

Course Details

This course is a two day course and attendance on both days is compulsory.

15 and 16 November 2022

18 and 19 January 2023

22 and 23 March 2023
