Using Technology with Children & Young People with Vision Impairment

This course will provide guidance on working with children and young people with moderate to severe vision impairments who have been provided with assistive technology and will cover the following:-

• Making modifications

• Using iPad to note-take and improve organisation (Notes app and Notability)

• Using Google Meet to screen share

• Desktop applications for magnification - An Introduction to Zoomtext and Read and Write toolbar.

All those attending will have a clear understanding of the principles of making modifications to text for children and young people with vision impairment.

All those attending with gain knowledge of supporting children and young people provided with iPads All those attending with gain knowledge and understanding on how to share information from an interactive whiteboard to iPads.

All those attending will gain knowledge and understanding of Desktop and laptop applications for magnification.
