C2k - DENI Census Overview 2025

In preparation for the 2025 DENI Census Return guidance material will be available on C2k Exchange on Monday 1st September 2025.

C2k are offering online DENI overview sessions using Microsoft Teams. The overview will be useful for All Staff working on the DENI Census return.

Course content:

C2k - SMS Exams Management - New Exams Officers

The course is for anyone new to the role of Exams Officer in Post Primary, Special or EOTAS.

The Course will demonstrate how to set up the Examinations Organiser module in the school SMS and use it to make examination entries and other processes associated with efficient exams administration. It will also give an overview of the support available for an Examinations Officer.

C2k are offering Post Primary schools to attend a three-day training course for new timetablers. The course is designed for school staff who have not previously attended a C2k timetable training course and who will be actively involved in their school’s timetabling process.

C2k is offering a training overview in preparation for the import of the Summer Series Results.

The course is for anyone new to the role of Examinations Officer or anyone who would like a refresher on importing and reporting on the Summer Series results.

C2k are offering an online session to outline the End of Year Procedures carried out in SIMS.

The overview is directed at the members of staff in school who will be editing the Pastoral Structure and assigning pupils to Registration Groups (not academic classes) etc. in SIMS.
The overview will cover parts of the End of Year and Preparation for New Academic Year procedures.

Procedures covered will include:

C2k - SMS Pupil Movement Year 7 to Year 8 Overview 2025

C2k are offering CTF Year 7 to Year 8 online overview sessions for Primary Schools to outline the SIMS .net Pupil Movement process.

In accordance with DE requirements, Year 7 pupil records are sent electronically by Primary Schools to the relevant Post Primary or Special school.  This year the CTFs can only be sent from 20 May onwards to Post Primary/Special schools through the AnyComms App within the App Store. This process must be completed by 5 June 2023.

The overview is for members of staff who deal with pupil records in SIMS .net, most likely a member of the office staff and will be delivered using Microsoft Teams.

The aim of the session is to provide training and guidance in assigning Year 7 pupils leaving dates, destinations etc. and the process to transfer to Year 8.

C2k - Amplify Skills & Creativity with Adobe Express

The Adobe Creativity Institute is designed for educators of all experience levels with Adobe Express, including primary and post-primary teachers, ICT coordinators, and others involved in digital learning.

Participants will reflect on teaching for creativity across all subjects and ages, design learning experiences to foster creativity, set goals for integrating Adobe Express into their curriculum, and discover how to access resources and assess creative work. They will also create graphics, videos, drawings, websites, lesson plans, and an action plan to support their goals.

Participants will receive Adobe Creative Educator Level 1 and 2 certifications and other materials. The event will be presented by Adobe Education Evangelists, Specialists, and ACE Innovators.

A perfect opportunity for some Practical, hands-on experiences to enhance learning and teaching in the class.

C2k - SMS Academic Management

The overview will be presented in face-to-face sessions, with one session being delivered in each of the C2k Centres (Antrim, Clounagh, Dundonald and Omagh).   This course is aimed at the person in school responsible for assigning students to academic classes – usually the teacher in charge of timetable or a member of the administration staff.  The course is limited to 1 person per school.

C2k - Enhancing collaboration using Google Classroom

This course is designed to enhance the use of Google Classroom with students. Attendees will learn to manage student work, assign and grade tasks, and provide digital feedback using Google Classroom.

C2k - Getting started with Google Drive

This course has been designed to enhance educators' digital skills and provide useful skills using workspace tools that can be implemented in any school setting. This training provides educators with essential skills to effectively use Google Drive.

Attendees will learn to organize files and folders, create workspaces for easy access, and upload various documents from any device. Additionally, attendees will gain expertise in creating, sharing, and converting files, as well as collaborating on documents and understanding different share settings.

By mastering these Google Drive functionalities, attendees will be able to streamline school documentation processes, transition to cloud storage, and enhance collaborative work with colleagues and students.
