Getting Ready to Learn

The Getting Ready to Learn (GRtL) programme focuses on improving outcomes for children in DE funded pre-school settings by engaging and empowering parents, to help them create and sustain positive home learning environments.

We would like to invite those settings who joined the programme in 2020-21 to a session where you will be introduced to the team and given an overview of the programme.  The session will focus on the changes to the programme for 2021-22 including an overview of the four themes, advice on purchasing home lending resources and information around delivering workshops and information sessions to parents.

The cost of living crisis and rising poverty levels are a real societal concern with the impact being felt on many families attending our nursery and pre-schools.

This session will explore how we can collectively provide low cost play opportunities for children in homes and settings.

The session will be facilitated by PLAYBOARD NI

This session is scheduled to take place on Thursday the 12th of January from 2:00 to 3:30 pm

This session is only available to those settings who are participating in the Getting Ready to Learn 2022-23.

A fun and interactive session that supports you to promote children's positive mental health and well-being.  the session will take a playful approach when exploring mental health.  We use play as a tool to improve not only children's mental health and well-being, but yours too!

The session will be delivered by PLAYBOARD NI

The session is scheduled for Thursday 19th January 2023 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm.

The session will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.

This session is only available to settings participating in Getting Ready to Learn 2022-23.

This is the first in a series of seasonal sessions to be delivered by Forest Schools NI.  As the weather gets warmer it is the perfect opportunity to get little ones out into natural spaces.  This session will focus on providing lots of practical activities to ensure the children get lots of regular opportunities to connect with natuure

the development of early number 5 principles of counting the development of early mathematical language.
