The C2K Newsdesk is a treasure trove of KS1 and KS2 resources designed to support the teaching of Literacy and World Around Us topics in Primary Schools. The Newsdesk team will take teachers on a guided tour of how to access the wide range of ready to use curriculum topic bundles for whole class teaching on classroom whiteboards - and for independent learning by pupils in school and at home.

The Newsdesk editor will highlight ways that pupils can publish their own comments and articles as a way of meaningfully developing literacy skills - and look at the platform's most recent additions and innovations to support learning, including a series of specially written short stories by Irish children's authors and the integration of Immersive Reader to enable newcomer pupils to access content.

C2k Collaborate Ultra Training

Collaborate Ultra Overview

Collaborate Ultra is a secure Video Conferencing solution for Education. Every teaching and non-teaching member of staff in school has their own account. Collaborate ultra allows users to communicate and share resources with other users. This session will include a demonstration of key feature as well as a look at new improved functionality including up to 250 videos being displayed to increase engagement.

In this session you will learn how to: access the software, invite attendees, create sessions, chat, audio, video, share content, control a session using access rights and record.

In this hands-on session, you will get up to speed with the basics of Google Workspace (formerly G Suite). We will look at creating and sharing folders and documents. Then we’ll explore a ready-made Google Classroom and you’ll have a chance to create your own with guidance on enrolling students and amending the class settings.

Google Sites for Online Hubs & ePortfolios

Share up-to-date info with collaborative docs and forms embedded in a Google Site for CPD, planning, extra-curricular activities etc. Custom design your own curriculum content layout, showcase pupil projects or have pupils record and evaluate their progress over time in an ePortfolio using Sites. We will also look at integrating Classroom assignments with Sites.

In this hands-on session, you’ll have the opportunity to get your site well on the way to publication.

Are you unfamiliar with O365 and would like time to explore the apps whilst learning some great tips along the way? If so, then this is the course for you.  We will explore how these apps can be used on a choice of devices.  You will also have opportunity to set up your own class or staff team and get to grips with the basics.
