Digital Art & Design to Support Shared Education (2 Day Module)

Target Audience - Primary Any teacher with an interest in developing their digital skills with a particular emphasis on design, photography, working with digital images and visual literacy.
It would also be relevant to a Using ICT co-ordinator or Art and Design co-ordinator who wants to develop these elements of the curriculum throughout their school.

This is a two-day workshop with hands on practical activities to explore and build confidence in using variety of digital tools to support Art and Design. It complements the CCEA Using ICT resource Digital Art and Design and develops progression in each of the elements of the Art and Design curriculum from Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 1 and 2. There is a focus on self-expression, identity, storytelling, critical thinking, reflection and the use of imagery as a persuasive tool. The ideas and activities provided are ideally suited to integrate into existing shared education topics to enhance learning and collaboration or to develop a new shared practice art and design project. The training is designed to illustrate how these digital activities can develop educational outcomes described in the Shared Education Progression Pathway.
 
Day 1 will introduce you to a variety of techniques and skills including photography and digital art.

Day 2 will allow you to use your new skills to create your own piece of digital art using mixed media (digital and non-digital materials) with a combination of apps. You will also have time on Day 2 to consider how to plan for classroom projects. The workshop will focus on the use of mobile digital devices e.g iPads or other tablets and mobile phones as most of the activities are designed to be used with this type of technology.
