This training package is designed to:
Enhance the knowledge, skills and confidence of classroom assistants in supporting pupils with Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing (SBEW) needs. Recognising the vital role classroom assistants play in fostering positive relationships and creating inclusive learning environments, the programme explores the factors that can influence behaviour, including attachment, trauma, adverse childhood experiences and unmet social and emotional needs.
Participants will develop practical strategies to support engagement, emotional regulation and positive behaviour, while working effectively alongside teachers, parents and external agencies. The training emphasises a nurturing, strengths-based approach that promotes pupil wellbeing, resilience and inclusion, enabling classroom assistants to contribute confidently to the educational, social and emotional development of the children and young people they support.
Learning Outcomes
