The Design, Build & Maintain Model

Aims:

• Enable school leaders and governors to develop an understanding of legislation, guidance and best practice in the development of a Positive Behaviour Policy.

Learning outcomes:

Session 1

Develop a clear understanding of the legislative and policy framework that underpins positive behaviour practice within schools and apply this knowledge to policy development.

Evaluate existing school values, ethos, and strategic priorities to ensure that positive behaviour policies reflect and promote the school's vision and aspirations for all learners.

Session 2

Build a coherent and contextually relevant positive behaviour policy that is aligned with statutory guidance, school improvement priorities, and the needs of the school community.

Strengthen an inclusive, relational school culture by embedding approaches that promote belonging, respect, equity, and positive engagement for all pupils. Establish effective systems for monitoring, evaluating, and reviewing policy implementation, using qualitative and quantitative evidence to measure impact and inform continuous improvement.
