AAIS Lego Based Club: Building social skills one brick at a time

Aims:

This course aims to:

Support school staff in setting up a LEGO based club within their school environment Develop social competence of autistic pupils through play-based engagement Support development of social skills such as sharing, turn-taking, collaboration, conflict resolution, negotiation, verbal and non-verbal communication Provide a social opportunity for autistic pupils during unstructured times, such as break-time and lunch-time etc. Highlight to the autistic pupil that socialising with a common purpose can be fun!

This short video was developed to show in school assemblies during the month of April to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month.

Our aim is to enhance peer understanding and acceptance of neurodiversity and autism.

AIMS:
