About this training/event

Aim:

This Professional Learning & Development Programme aims to provide staff with the knowledge and practical skills to understand sensory processing and regulation, and to plan for the effective use of sensory spaces to support pupil wellbeing, inclusion, and readiness to learn.

Structure/Content:

This session has been specifically developed to support the following:

  1. Explore sensory processing, sensitivity, and regulation and their impact on learning and behaviour
  2. Examine the purpose and use of sensory spaces, including when, why, who, what and where
  3. Provide practical approaches to delivering structured sensory sessions (energising, organising and calming)
  4. Outline the role of adults, co-regulation, and collaborative working in supporting pupils
  5. Identify strategies for monitoring, recording, and evaluating impact, including the use of pupil voice

Length: 9.30am - 3.30pm

Specialist Provision Staff, Foundation Stage Specialist Provision Staff, School Leadership Team, Learning Support Coordinators (SENCos)
