AIMS:

  • To revise/highlight the knowledge and skills required for accurate spelling and discuss why a pupil experiencing dyslexic type difficulties might find these difficult.
  • To demonstrate how teachers might identify types of spelling miscue through base-line testing.
  • To help teachers analyse these errors in order to guide decisions on best strategies/approaches to be used.
  • To make reference to key highlights and guidance from the SEN Resource File – Spelling section.
