AIMS:

Understand the process of developing a supported Calm Plan based on nurture principles and trauma informed practice

Use the Calm Plan framework:

to help recognise dysregulation in yourself and your pupils

to help understand what pupils are communicating through their behaviour

Develop an understanding of how to help pupils feel safe and connected

Developing a Calm Plan

Pre-School Primary

Development and Implementation of a Social Behaviour Emotional Wellbeing Plan, incorporating the pupil’s voice

AIMS:

Outline the process of developing, monitoring and reviewing a Social Behaviour Emotional Wellbeing plan (proforma found in the updated SEN resource file)

Develop an understanding of how to unlock the pupil’s voice in relation to contributing to the development of their SBEW Plan

Increase awareness of how to use the pupil’s voice to shape support and monitor progress

This Training will be in 2 sessions and participants must attend both sessions

Overview of Updated SBEW Guidance in the SEN Resource File

Solution Focused Approach to Supporting Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing Needs

AIMS:

This facilitative workshop aims to provide staff with a solution focused approach to support Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Well-Being (SBEW) within a busy mainstream classroom.

Staff will be provided with a structure to enable them to reflect on underlying and interacting factors in relation to SBEW.

In addition, staff will have the opportunity to develop, reflect and utilise their skills and experiences in formulating a solution circle approach to becoming ‘unstuck’ during this interactive workshop.

Course Details:

Each individual member of staff attending must complete an individual registration.

Attendance is only required at one session.

Training will be in person in the following venues  on applicable date:

Supporting Pupils with a Statement for Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing Needs:

AIMS:

Enable Classroom Assistants to use a range of Strategies and resources to promote inclusion of children and young people with a Statement of SEN for Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing needs

Understand the needs of children and young people with a Statement of SEN for Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing (SBEW) needs

 Learning outcomes:

Session 1:  

Explore strategies which can be used to develop positive relationships with pupils who have SBEW needs Develop a culture of listening to the child’s voice.

Session 2:  

Understand the importance of resilience development for pupils with SBEW needs Identity effective practice which will nurture the development of resilience for pupils with SBEW needs

Session 3:   

Identity the skills, support and strategies that can be used to nurture belonging, raise self-awareness and to reduce tension for pupils with SBEW needs Understanding and monitoring of outcomes for pupils with SEN

Please note: This course consists of 3 sessions: Reconnecting Relationships, Building Resilience and Planning Support -Participants must attend all 3 sessions

Supporting Transition- Early Years Professionals Training

This training is provided by the following services:

Autism Advisory and Intervention Service, Primary Behaviour Support, SENIS DS, SENIS MLD, SENEYIS, and Sensory Service

 AIMS:

Identify key partners in transition. Outline the core aspects of support for effective transition. Use child centred planning to develop bespoke transition plans. To reflect on issues and challenges around the transition of children with SEN and how it affects children, their families and educational professionals.
