Aims:

Through participation you will:

Gain an understanding of the legislation and guidance relating to SBEW.
Examine the value of an inclusive school ethos.
Gain an understanding of the importance of the voice of the young person in supporting pupils with SEN and critically reflect on how this is used within your school setting.
Gain an understanding of Attachment and Trauma Informed Practice.
Reflect upon the role of the Key Adult and the importance of developing trusting relationships.
Evaluate the basic approaches to creating a safe, supportive learning environment for young people with SBEW needs.
Gain an understanding of appropriate de-escalation strategies.
